The Chateaux Chamonix is one of the closest condo buildings to the Steamboat gondola — true ski-in/ski-out, with the ski school literally next door. For families with kids in lessons, that’s the whole game: drop them off, ski your runs, meet them at the chair.
Unit 223 is a two-bedroom on the second floor with a real fireplace, a marble kitchen, and balcony views over the trees. The master sleeps two in a king, the guest room sleeps four (queen plus two bunk beds) — works for two couples, or one family of six.
The building amenities are a real upgrade: a heated pool and a slope-side hot tub right by the lobby, a second hot tub in the middle of the complex, slope-side ski-valet racks with a boot-heater room (no clomping back to the unit in ski boots), and a fitness room in Building C.
What we love
- True ski-in/ski-out positioning at the gondola base — no shuttle, no walk.
- Right next to the ski school. If you have kids in lessons, this is the move.
- The bunk-bed guest room sleeps four — bigger groups than you’d expect for a 2BR.
- The boot-heater room. Park your boots there at the end of the day, walk to the unit in stocking feet.
